The Charge Capture Auditor for Interventional Radiology services works closely with clinical departments and OP Coding to ensure compliance with government, payer, and internal charge capture policies; provides/develops education to the clinical departments and coding teams. This position is responsible for conducting retrospective and or concurrent reviews of the IR charges and reports findings, provides feedback to staff responsible for charge capture, billing operations & coding for ongoing compliance by identifying over coding, under coding and missed coding opportunities. The individual in this role will assist leadership on special projects to review IVR charges captured by the departments and validated by coding to ensure that guidelines are being followed for code and modifier assignment and will assist in development of appropriate education based on gaps identified
Responsibilities
- Review & analyze, clinical information from medical records to ensure compliance with IVR coding guidelines and LCD/NCD policies
- Presents, Educates, and Communicates findings to improve compliance
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years outpatient Interventional Radiology coding & auditing experience
- Skilled and working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Strong technical background and electronic medical record experience
- Successful completion of at least one AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) or AAPC (Association of Professional Coders) certified program and corresponding credential achievement.
- Coding certification, i.e. CPC, CCS, CIRCC
Preferred:
- 5+ years outpatient Interventional Radiology coding & auditing experience
- Associates or higher-level degree in a Health Information Management discipline.
- CIRCC /RHIT/RHIA plus CCS or CPC
Compensation:
- Pay: $30.60-$48.80 per hour. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Position may be eligible for a signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.
- Observed holidays receive time and a half.
